Hardware Hacking the Touch Pro 2?
If you have a Sprint TP2 at this point, you're probably in my situation: you've got a plan too cheap to give up in exchange for a better smartphone.
Sprint has no solution for us, but there has to be someone out there capable of hardware-hacking phones to give us one of two potential solutions here: upgrading the CPU/RAM of the TP2, or hacking a current-gen smartphone to identify itself to Sprint's network as a TP2.
I know that in my case, I'm saving many hundreds of dollars every year by keeping the TP2. I'd have to pay $200 on-contract for a new smartphone, anyway, so there's no question that I'd pay at least that much for such a hack, and I'm sure many of you would, as well.
The XDAndroid project has been invaluable in generating an Android build that gives us more stable, efficient performance with our TP2s, but the returns there will only go so far without better hardware. I'm looking for anyone who either is already capable of this kind of hardware hacking, or wants to work as part of a group to either find someone who's capable, or become capable.
If you're interested in this, as either someone who could do it, or someone who'd be willing to pay for it, let me know.
