If you need help getting gitweb running on your site, hit me up, you still have my email. I got mine running just fine, but instead of GitWeb, I went with CGit,
Git repository browser.
Also, I'll show you how to compile outside of the tree, then you have a clean source tree, and don't have to worry about all those extra files.
