Right off the bat, no need for a new thread - post in the build thread! (There's two, I have one for
GingerBread, and one for
Froyo...) You're also on a really old build... we're up to FRX06, with 07 around the corner (soon - don't ask when
)
Turn off autobacklight if you have it on (under the Display/Brightness settings).
If that doesn't fix it, there's a rootfs+RIL fix that's a little complex - but will be much easier once that new aforementioned build does come out.
WEP works, but you have to do some tricks. The
FAQ has some workarounds, but why do you use WEP? Honestly if you can change it - at all costs, you should. It's extremely insecure, and any script kiddie with even basic computer knowledge can hack your wifi in less than 2 minutes with even a modest laptop. So please, if you have access to the router or can talk to the admin - have them change it to something like WPA or WPA2...
