I am currently on the west coast...and have tried to make calls thru Google Voice over wifi only with NO 3G connectivity. I have been using GV since it first released (part of their beta testing group) after they changing from Grand Central.

I was unable to just make calls over WiFi (I was in the Mojave Desert.) I have tried tango...voice only...but it was lagging really bad. Was hoping for a MORE direct wifi only calling thru GV more like a computer to computer experience.
