I talked to CS first, got transferred to second-tier support. My story (true BTW) was that I didn't understand why I was paying an extra $10/mo for 4G service that wasn't available in my area when I couldn't even get adequate 3G connectivity. They apologized and sent the AirRave overnight. No charge, free shipping.
I did have to pay a one-time $35 fee for a second phone number to it. But no charge for the device itself and no monthly cost. I also had to sign a statement saying that if I terminated my account, I'd give it back.
It has made my Epic the first Sprint phone I've had so far that really works all the time in my home/office.
