Dr. 8820 is generally correct. The Sprint TP2 GSM hardware only supports Edge data on GSM. It is considered a Worldphone but normally operating in the US on the CDMA network so the CDMA hardware is capable of the 3g/EVDO data speed. If you had a TMobile or AT&T branded TP2 then yes it is 3g capable.
Again OP I suggest you try and get a SERO plan or go with Boost Mobile to get a cheaper plan.
