if your trying to use a mouse or keyboard, i understand it should work if the Evo has usb hosting. (Which to be honest ive only read about the N1 & Xoom having usb hosting) i doubt the Evo has it other then that they can be used as chargers =]. i have 2 of those BTW and all there good for is charging
