You've got to poke around the settings app more! Lots of hidden gems in there  .
Settings -> Wireless & Networks -> Tethering & Portable Hotspot...
USB tether doesn't work (it does with EasyTether + adb, but native one doesn't work yet), but wifi tethering should - again, assuming your wifi works in general.
O and to answer your question - you do not need to turn on wifi manually. I just suggested testing wifi to make sure that wifi on the phone works... |
Thanks... I didn't even know about this. Thought I needed an app to do the wifi tethering. Guess it's because I never used it
I'm typing this via the wifi tethering connection on FRX05 in my phone now. Working great... though it's a battery hog... 2 radios sucking up power
