Re: Incoming calls: google voice Vs. carrier?
I only use my google voice number and usually have to look up my actual cell number when I have to contact the cell company, I have it set to show my gv number and the call is announced, so if they aren't in my contact list already, they have to tell me who they are, then I get a choice of 1 to answer or 2 to send to voicemail, a little extra step, but 1) I like the ability to send to voicemail and then listen to them leave the message, then I know if I need to call right back or can wait, and 2) my gv number is set to one of my 15 fav numbers on my carrier so all inbound calls are free, and since I use the google callback app when I call out, all outbound calls are free, by doing this, I have 3 phones (2 android and 1 regular) sharing 500 minutes a month, and I think in the last 6 months the most minutes used between all 3 phones was 100 minutes (cause my wife was calling her mother directly thinking she was using google, I taught her how to use the callback app and now hardly any minutes are used)
