Its not confusing..I can tell you this, its simpler then rooting an EVO was when the hboot changed lol
The thing is the extra steps are added for the EXT4...you can use a none EXT4 rom if you wish and its a bit more straight forward...all you gotta do is one click and flash rom and/or kernel...the EXT4 though makes your device smoother..
If you feel things are too complicated..just start simple..1 thing at a time..then when you feel comfortable attempt the EXT4 stuff..
