heh, I hear ya.

A tip for people with battery issues or needing to change quickly.

If it was reading fine but, all of a sudden it's not reading right, power off the phone, remove the battery, put it back in BUT, do not power on the phone, plug it into the charger/USB cable, the light will come on and it will be charging, leave it there for 45 to 1 hour.

It will charge the whole phone in less than 1/2 the time when the phone is off. I've used this a few times for a meeting that was a 1/2 hour away with a almost dead battery, powered off with a car charger 95% of the time results in a 100% battery.
Actually, I have experienced the opposite.
I think especially with the nueBattery/Power mods installed with quick charge enabled I notice the green light indicating a full charge coming on much sooner if I charge with the phone powered on.
