as i was in my car the other day i think i realized why my charger port broke on my phone. i made a custom cell phone holder, and basically it was a usb port sticking up with some arms to hold the phone on the sides. so the phone was almost completely supported by the charger port. that made it loose, and also the fact that the holder was very rigid, it didnt give at all when i clumsily would rip it off the cradle. what gave was the phone.

next time ill make a cradle charger that supports the phone itself, and the charge jack will be flexible. it will still need to be stiff enough so i can just stick the phone on it with one hand, but loose enough to not hurt the phone if its tweaked.
