well first of all i think you need to find out why you can't run the prl updater, all the roms that i have ran it's worked fine on, i'm no expert but you might want to give some background on what rom you are running and what programs you have installed, also might want to ask in the thread of the rom if anyone else is having issues updating the prl, here's a link to the prl zip.
