Basically borrow an ESN or IMEI/SIM number from someone with an old Boost phone. I have a cousin that has an old IMEI/SIM he lent me the numbers. Got the account set up. Called back in 20 minutes and migrated the phone to CDMA. They gave me the info that my walkie talkie wouldn't work yadda yadda. The lady asked what phone it was and I just said it was one with a keyboard.
Configuring the EPST was a pain and I still couldn't get the data to work even though I followed exactly the configurations found on Howard Forums. I ended up taking off my EnergyRom and putting on the original stock sprint rom. Luckily after the cab installer installed everything it actually did a configuration to the epst and everything worked.
Now I've got a cheap data plan that I can use my lappy with. The coverage isn't the best but I'm sure it will do me good enough for now.

Nice explanation to whats already stated on the guide
EPST? howard forums? y if step by step on first page... LOL
Got the epic but still have the tp2 not connected but kept it so i can give support to this thread thinking of connecting it on pay as you go plan for the data so i can tether with it but kind of bulky and pricey as a modem but might be worth it instead of paying 30-60 $ month on a network card how has it been working out for you is it worth it?
