Phone won't connect to Wifi, advanced.

Hi all! Long time listener, first time caller.

I can't seem to get my phone (original Moto Droid) to connect to my home wifi. It seems to keep getting stuck "Obtaining IP Address". My home wifi is WEP encrypted with a key. I have entered the key correctly into my phone.

I have assigned (in the phone) a static IP address as my first step. I then power cycled the phone, to no results.

I assigned a static IP address to my phones MAC inside the routers configuration. I then power cycled the phone.

I updated the firmware of my router, power cycled the phone and the router. It still won't connect (frustrating).

I have entered all IP settings in the phone (dns gateway etc etc) and still nothing.

I do not have the option of changing encryption methods on my router, unfortunately. Any suggestions anyone?
