Re: Help 2 choose android instead of WM
I was a diehard WM user (PPC 6700, Touch, TP2), and switched last Nov. I love the ease of finding apps. Generally the apps were available for WM, but much harder to find, and much more expensive when you found them (cheap apps were $10, not free or $1).
There are things that I miss about WM. Namely SBP Mobile Shell, but I hear it is in beta (MS5.0 for Android), and having a stylus (that functioned as a backup pen!). And there are things that annoy me that I haven't found a cure for (yet) in android (what is up with landscape in the home screens? Put your phone in a car dock, use it as a nav, and get a call or a text -- it is in portrait). I think the best asset Android has is that it doesn't really have stated minimum requirements, so manufacturers just put the newest, coolest crap in them. They didn't really understand that Windows lies about minimum requirements. Instead of minimum requirements they mean, "If you want your computer to lock up and generally freak out every time you want to do a bunch of crap at once -- then these are the requirements" -- I mean I probably wouldn't have switched from my TP2 if it had a 1g processor, 4G & a capacitive screen, but I am very happy with my EVO.
