The Htc Touch/Elf have been around long before the Iphone, so how is "it" deciding to be an Iphone, give me a effing break???
It is a WM phone that is what it is, as for the slow "speed" of the Iphone, it doesn't really matter to a large number of people if it is bumped up to the next level because although I've had Rev A in our area for years, yes years, ATT is slower than **** and has no plans I can find to ever increase it.
P.S. Ed, I also saw that $199 deal and was thinking of getting one myself for a little while and unlocking/selling it
