yeah you do need to run the HSPL, its what unlocks the phone in order to be able to place ROMS on the phone, think of it as jailbreaking i guess would be a good word, its simple enough. and as far as the process of installing a rom goes, just plug it in to your computer via usb make sure its charged >50% and the click and open the RomUpdateUtility.exe (spelling?)
