Not really..its not that expensive...plus most of the time Sprint will repalce it for free...as for CPU and GPU..not true...you shouldn't make that assertion...take Optimus S for example which has a mere 600mhz CPU but a good GPU (for its class) which makes a HUGE difference..same with then new 800mhz phones with 2nd gen snapdragons...you can't put the 2 together...its MAKES a difference...
Thats like when you say you can multiboot boot wp7 and android and other oses on HD2...well Epic can boot Ubuntu and Android..so they are the same right? both boot multiple OSes...

My boss has an epic sitting on his desk right now and it is NOT thinner than my HD2...
|
Well its definitely thinner in 1 dimension as Epics are more long for full hd..while HD2 and EVOs are fatter..but as for height obviously Epic would be thicker..but not by that much...for one Epic is definitely easier to hold..

as far as I can tell the Sense porting has been abandoned, whether or not froyo source is released, we'll have to wait and see,

Who told you its been abandoned? it has not..they said it themselves they are waiting for Froyo source...they said it from day 1!

but overall the Evo and HD2 get much more Android development than the Epic does. I've been running a fully stable CM7 ROM on my HD2 for a while now.
|
I'm not arguign there..but they have been out longer and people are more familiar with HTC..BUT development community for Galaxy S is increasing every day while EVO and HD2 is staying the same/shrinking...

I'm not saying the Epic doesn't have some cool shit, It's not a bad phone at all, but for my money, if i WERE on Sprint, I'd rock an Evo.
|
Thats fine..personally if Epic was not a option I'd prob choose a shift over an EVO..but that is preference...all I was arguing was Epic has better raw hardware..which you know is true...

Thankfully I own the only phone on the planet that can dual-boot WP7 and Android 2.3.2
