Re: Does Your TP2 Corrupts Itself and Loses Registry Settings?

I've recently upgraded my SanDisk MicroSD Ultra 2GB Class 6 card to a more spacious SanDisk MicroSDHC Ultra 8GB Class 4 that is a little slower for my wife and I. These are premium cards and I've always found SanDisk to be reliable, unlike other SD cards that I've seen actually corrupt themselves when my friends complain about their cameras and phones. The same corruption happens to both our phones when we were running MightyROM and it has happened a few times each for us, that is why I am dumping that ROM and went looking elsewhere. So 2-phones and 4-SD cards and still same corruption, I chock it up to the ROM.

I'll run the Energy 29007 ROM for now since I don't have the time today to reflash it and reconfigure everything, if it screws up majorly or I find some show stopper bugs I'll go to something else, Vin's or Lead ROM.

I never ran Task29.exe "format binfs" since none of the instructions for any of the previous ROM's needed to do that. I used to cook my ROMs with PPC Kitchen until their packages got long in the tooth and I don't quite remember if there was a Task28 or Task29 included in their flasher. Why is Task29 even necessary when a regular ROM flash does the same thing as a quick format on a hard drive? The left over data is still there in the unwritten sectors but because it is not referenced in the file table those blocks never get read or written since they are listed as unallocated. Unless there is a serious bug in the file system driver in WinMO that mistakenly reads or writes to the wrong unallocated blocks then there should be no need for explicit binfs format on the entire FlashROM.
