I'm using the previous version (Dec 20th?) with some revised files for better performance. Unfortunately can't keep up with a 1,000 + post thread to know what's really better about the new revision...
Typically the newer stuff/revisions have updated items, i.e. backlight, sound, less FC's, etc, but it's not always as easy just grabbing a new item and dumping it into a folder. Sometimes it's the kernel that is updated, sometimes other items. Also depends where it's coming from as some of the stuff is just testing and will cause other problems. There's really no way around reading through posts to stay updated. Maybe try just dumping your data.img and having it reset another one, that does seem to fix a lot of issues as they do seem to get corrupt every so often. My recommendation is when you get it running good, copy the data.img somewhere else so you can go back to it if you have a future problem. Hopes this helps. You can also try tiad's package that he's put together, just find his thread and read the first few posts and it should get you up and running quickly.
