thumbnails are just that, thumbnail of the origanl image. Like file exploring your pc and getting to the pictures files. If you have the folder set to thumbnail veiw you get all your pics shown real small. Opening them takes you to full size (wether you us windows meadia veiwer or what have you). If you delete the .thumbnails file from your sd card it will just come back next time you filter thu your albums on your phone.

Remember the only folders that were on the card when we first got our phones (evo came with 4 rosie, htc sycn cant recall the other two) the rest of the files on your sd card were written to it as you use the phone.
