I have stock EVO,
I tried as above,
SuperUser granted access to WirelessTether,
but WirelessTether says 'Unable to start tethering. Please try again!',
Any additional ideas?
UPDATE,
Got it to work,
softbooted a couple times and had to edit some of the 'settings' in Wireless Tether,

Not really wanting to have permanently rooted phone,
so appreciate z4root for purpose of wifi,
