I would definitely suggest running a ROM with Sense 2.5 built in, if you have that option. If not, you can try installing HTC_Framework and see if that helps out.

Ok, no problem. That is easily changeable through the registry:
Navigate to:

HKEY_Local_Machine\Software\HTC\Manila
HomeLSKPath=Windows\DeviceLock.exe
HomeLSKText=Lock
If you don't feel comfortable editing the registry, there is a cab
HERE that will do the same thing.
