Also my magnetic compass seems to work fine with gps turned off. My gps does however take forever to get a lock sometimes.
edit: I just tested my compass again holding my phone up twords the sky and it did start acting funny! but even apps like panoplanet lite, vr tunnel and ibeer that dont use the compass act all jittery.
Should I bring this phone back to the sprint store?

I used sky map before and it looked ok to me :/...I guess flash back to stock, bring it to the store and try the demo unit to see how it is..if it doesn't have the issue return it..I mean you have 30 days...
If you think its your accelometer you can test it by going to the phone app
dial:
*#0*#
then click Sensor
then Accelometer
