For those having issues with ActiveSync connectivity

***This is for a phone fully booted up, not a phone booted to the bootloader***

If you connect your phone and hear the usual USB connection sound, but ActiveSync never connects, try this:

1) Right click on My Computer and choose Manage
2) Click on Device Manager
3) Open Network adapters
4) Connect the phone via USB
**at this point Device Manager should refresh a couple of times and you should now have a new entry under Network adapters called Windows Mobile-based Device (perhaps with a # after it)
5) Right click on this device and delete it
6) Disconnect the phone from the USB cable then reconnect it

You should now see ActiveSync communication once again.

Please let me know if this works for you.

Edit: I also noticed I had issues when connecting through my docking station. Be sure to use a port directly on your PC/laptop

"Tip: If you are having challenges connecting with ActiveSync, please try: Start > Settings > Connection Tab > USB to PC > Deselect Enable advanced network functionality."

Thanks frazmanw:
on win mobile 6.1

Settings - System - USB to PC uncheck box....

on Win Mobile 6

Settings - connections - USB to PC uncheck box....

Update:
I was just now having issues and ActiveSync was erroring out. I deleted the device and reconnected. All is well now.

Delete the device in AS by choosing File -> Delete Mobile Device (phone must be disconnected.)
