Re: Is WP7 right for me?
These are common gripes of people who haven't picked up the phone and used it. Yes, they're valid gripes but in most cases they are just that - gripes...
1. Copy and paste, which I use often when needing a password from SplashID to enter into a browser among other things
No... it's not available but will probably be right around the time it drops on Verizon or Sprint
2. Tether to laptop using PDANet
You can activate tethering on some phones - namely the LG Optimus 7 and the Samsung Focus - those have been given the ability with a MFG Service hack...
3. Multitask (have at least a few programs open before it starts to freeze anyway!)
There is no multitasking and about the best thing you'll see around multitasking is tombstoning - basically the ability to have an app paused... the back button becomes the app switcher and the app is resumed when you go back.
4. Free BING navigation
Nope, it's not there yet... it has a great a turn by turn solution with Bing built in - it's pretty nice - I use it on my phone for driving directions. I click on the address in the mail client and it pops a map with turn-by-turn navigation. Is it coming? I'd assume so fairly quickly in an update
If I can't do any of the above with WP7 I'll probably wait for future versions.
You have to remember - this is not like WM 6.5 or an Android device for the most part - the OS will be updated by Microsoft... no the carriers, not the OEMs... by Microsoft which means updates will come fast and furious.
Provided I came from a WM6.5 device... go to the AT&T store and just use it - there's nothing on the market like it currently. I am a heavy business user... the phone is quite awesome.
