The problems with this thing are widely reported. Mine doesn't go offline as frequently as some others from what I've read, but I do get the lovely double or multiple text message bug. The boost in signal is definitely worth the trouble IMO.
Oh, and I don't like how you lose "My Location" functionality with it, despite excellent GPS signal
