Re: PPC defrag and registry cleanup

Does defraging a PPC really help with performace any bit ? Really ?

I read a big discussion on SSD drives and defraging, the whole thing in a nut shell said it was a moot point, there was 0% boost in perfomace.

Why ? Hard drives use platters with a needle (kind of on the concept of a record for your older people), so data was all over the drive(fragged) and it took more time for it to "seek" the data. SSD/a chiped based storage system, does not suffer from this problem.

Can anyone actually prove by defragging a PPC or SD card gives a true perfomance boost ????

Dead files and registry errors, sure but, defraging, I believe it's pointless.
