Not true..boils down to which manufacturing process they use for the die size..example:

Snapdragon Processor Getting Snappier - PCWorld

Is a dual core processor that uses 75% less power than current Snapdragon processor..and 28nm...EVO has a crappy 65nm process..while the Droids and Galaxy S have 45nm process...upcomming quadcore Aquila will be 32nm..

Then on top add a Super Amoled 2 which uses up 2x less power then Super Amoled..

With a phone with the above I'm sure you can do over 45min easy.
