IF you have VIN's rom installed, goto
Start -> Tools -> Advanced -> PowerMeter
If you got lost and don't have VIN's Rom, then you need to install a power/battery monitor/meter.
Watch it for at least it a minute and allow it to settle after opening the program, it will be high because you just opened it, then will drop as you are idled.
On the left side under the graph is says "Now" and "Avg" followed by a number and "mA", for example "Now: 121 mA" and "Avg: 144 mA"
That tells you how much juice you phone is using, you want the number to be as low as possible. With every program closed, mine runs 60-80 mA.
The phone charges at around 500 mA, if your phone is using 500 mA, then your battery will die in the same amount of time it takes to charge.
If you are running above 150 mA, then you need to close programs or change settings until you are not using as much juice.
Settings to check:
1. Use a file explorer to goto My Device-> Windows -> StartUp and check what shortcuts are in that folder. Delete any program shortcuts that you don't use a lot. Bluetooth, Voice command, etc, etc. That will keep them from starting up when the phone starts and running in the background, it won't delete them from your phone.
2. Weather, email, stocks update times. If your phone is checking the weather and for new emails every minute, you are going to burn through more battery.
3. IF you have a CDMA phone Under all settings-> Personal -> Phone -> Network, change "Mode of operation" from Global to CDMA only, that way it's not constantly looking for GSM towers.
Search the forums, there are PLENTY of threads on battery life of the TP2 and all kinds of tips and settings to make it last longer.
