I was explained last year that EVDO Rev.0 is more or less 2.5G and EVDO Rev.A is more or less the CDMA equivalent of 3G in GSM.
EVDO Rev A is supposed to be 25% faster at downloading and up to 800% faster at uploading (and has lower latency).
