Windows (all versions including mobile) has always had a problem with 'usability' - that is where Apple shines. My PPC does a lot of neat stuff.. but the keys by which you select function or issue commands differ from program to program and sometimes within programs themselves. If you enjoy bit twiddling and are a technogeek - you'll love Windows - if all you want is a simple device that is attractively packaged, performs reasonably well and is simple to operate, you'll love Apple.
I have an MP3 player that has far more features than iPod and is less expensive - but it never achieved the success of iPod because the packaging and human interface was not nearly as cool as iPod. The same rules apply to phones.
