I had this happen in the UAE. Make sure that your data connection is setup to
dial the correct APN - mine is etisalat.ae with no user name or password. Also, you can try the SIM in another phone to see if the data is working and that should help narrow down the issue. I've had various issues with data connectivity here. Once time it was out for a week. I drove up to Dubai and it kicked in for some reason...go figure.
