if your not going to bother to learn how to remove apps, its going to be hard for you to flash roms.

backing up a rom is just that.. a backup.

if you mess up by flashing a new custom rom.. just restore your 'backup'

you can have many different backups, so you can pretty much 'restore' back to any 'backup' rom you want. they're stored on your memory card either under clockworkmod or nandroid folders (depending on the recovery your using)

i recommending renaming them to something you can remember because if you just rename them by date it'll confuse you as to which rom it is.

i THINK some apps (.apks) can be moved out of the system/apps folder using the root mode from estrongs file manager. some roms already have sprint bloatware removed for you.
