Try ju0st a soft reset - hit the reset pin by the battery, and boot again. Still no wifi, do the data.img delete/move/rename dance.
If it still doesn't work, update to the newest of the new - zImage/modules (these go together!) and rootfs.
BTW, have you tried the reference build clean as well? Shouldn't be any different in respect to wifi, just curious.

Its as clean as it can get. I did install the newest zimage/modules/rootfs together with the new install. I will try deleting the data.img file again.(tried that the other day but that was before the new install). I wonder if i turn on the wifi before booting into android will help.
Havnt had a chance to try the reference build yet, didnt need all the unwanted clutter.
