I didn't buy the dock for the Epic, I plan on ditching it the second Sprint gets Windows Phone 7 handsets.
I do, however, use my phone as an alarm clock and keep the screen on at night next to my bed. I use Launcher Pro from my Homescreen and Alarm Clock Plus for the alarm so it does rotate when the phone is turned on it's side and it has options to prevent burn in.
I never thought an AMOLED would have this issue. Now I'm going to be certain to turn the screen off before bed! Just make sure the Alarm Clock is excluded from the task killer list.
