Its not being damaged...The only way I can think of them fixing it aside from increasing the lifespan of the oleds would be to make a dynamic profile where it remembers how long each oled has used each color then mathematically calculates the deterioration rate and adjusts all the other pixels based on the lowest number...that may effect the refresh rate a bit but at the moment the refresh rate a lot faster then standard lcds anyways.
Also guys you may want to theme in a semi transparent notification bar if your worried.
