Can't. Android needs the card to be mounted - as that is where the OS is running off of. USB works for debugging in the newest kernel, but that's about it. You can access the card within Android, since it is mounted...

At first I was just going to say format with the HP tool but it looks like you've already done that & solved your issue with the ringtones. The reboots... do they happen when you do anything in particular? I get random reboots every now and then, usually when I try to use the phone as a phone (of course...)

You may try a different SD card, I'd be curious if that is the cause. Doubtful. Do you install a lot of apps? There's a lot of apps that don't work for one reason or another & can/will cause instability.

With that said, the newest commits need some patches... there were some regressions, and we're still tryin to dig thru exactly what broke
