this is a result from the pin inside the headphone jack getting messed up it remains pressed in as if the headphones were still in the jack just fiddle w/ the headphone plug into the jack until it disappears, but the only way to really fix it is to take it into your carrier and have them either replace the part or replace the phone Sprint simply gave me a new phone when that happened to me
