It's not "true" MMS in the sense of the word but looks very interesting as a way to better enable MMS via email and I'm thinking of checking it out soon.
In regards to your question, MMS is similar to SMS in that it's OTA messaging, but MMS is a "multimedia messaging service" so you can send pictures, video, music, etc. -e.
