Not really. For many of those devices, GPS was an advertised feature by the carriers but was not activated when they shipped. In this case, no CDMA carrier has advertised (or even admitted) FM radio.

For one thing, that's malarkey on the face of it. Some keys become lost and cannot be recreated. Some locks have been filled with glue. Some locks are designed not to be unlocked and must be destroyed to open them.

For another, not everything that bars progress is a lock, so this may not matter even if true. "Lock" implies that something can be opened under the right circumstances. What people are disagreeing about is whether there's a lock, or even a door, or if we're dealing with a slab of poured concrete a mile thick.

People, not every problem has a solution. In fact, lots of problems are not solvable. This is a critically-important truth to grasp in order to have a happy adult life. Giving up too easily is a problem, certainly, but continuing to bash your head against a wall because something "has to" be true or possible is a recipe for misery.
