SetCPU and SystemPanel

I recently rooted (yeah!) and installed SetCPU to adjust power settings. Now I have been using SystemPanel for some time, and really like it.
Here's the problem... I noticed after I created profiles within SetCPU, to reduce my CPU speed to save battery, SystemPanel still shows that my EVO is still spiking to 998mhz (based on my profiles, it should not)...

Question: Does SetCPU really work, or is SystemPanel displaying bad info?

OK...I figured it out...
The key is disabling Perflock – a bit of code by HTC that keeps the CPU running at a set speed, regardless of usage. By disabling this and setting custom profiles within SetCPU, the CPU can underclock when its use is lower. I "thought" I had this set, but once you set it, it disables if your not paying attention (which I wasn't!), you MUST check the "checkmark", after it cycles the disable, otherwise it won't hold the setting. ...SystemPanel now shows the lower CPU speed.
