I've got my USB sync cable connected to my PC, mini USB to my phone, Active Sync is running and it sees my phone. I start up RUU for the ROM/Task29 and I go through all the steps required in order to update the ROM. Phone goes into bootloader screen and seems like its going to update the ROM, but it flashes a grey screen with "Unable to Load File" for about a second and then goes back to the booloader screen. Once it does, my PC powers down and reboots on its own. Fortunatley, my phone does not lose anything or get stuck in bootloader (thank my blessings...thought I bricked my phone or messed up my PC the first two times). I remove the battery for 3 secs, power phone back on, and everything is fine.

I've had this happen about 6-7 times. Doesn't matter if it's a custom rom or stock rom or task29. If any of guys have input on what could be causing this issue, I'd appreciate your feedback.
Have you tried a different USB port or cable?
Maybe something went wrong in the unlocking process and you need to rerun the unlocker.
