Same as every other ROM-make sure your up to date on the latest radios, wimax, PRL, and PRI.
Ensure you are synching only what you need and then only when you need it.

You can go so far as disabling radios and features that you are not using (GPS, wifi, data, 4G) but IMO this is 1) hamstringing the device and therefore kind of defeating the purpose of having such a feature packed, powerful device in the first place and 2) from what I've read-disabling features can actually HURT battery life as resources can be wasted in the search for the things you've turned off.

IMO the battery calibration "trick" can be helpful-charge your device till you get the green indication light of a full charge. Unplug the charger, wait for the light to go off and reconnect. Once you are green again (in seconds or minutes) turn off the device. Your indicator light will most likely turn red, wait for green. Once green with the device off, disconnect/reconnect and wait for green again. I do this once or twice, I've seen recommendations for up to 10 times (10X is a waste IMO).
Once you are done reboot the device into recovery and wipe battery stats.
I think this has a positive effect after the initial flash of a ROM, not something that needs to be done more often than that. YMMV.

Hope that helps.
