Yes, I just used the phone with Energy ROM in Switzerland and the Internet worked fine. You just have to configure it (depends on your GSM provider - they usually have instructions online). Go to Start->Settings->Connections->Connections->Advanced->New and enter the settings that your provider wants (or just try to leave the defaults) and then in "Programs that automatically connect to the Internet should connect using:" choose your newly created connection.
