I'm running a different ROM on my EVO but am trying to help a family member with theirs. We rooted their phone with the Unrevoked software and they are running a rooted stock ROM (version prior to this update).

Can they perform the steps mentioned and keep all of their existing data without having to do a Titanium backup? I read through all of the posts but it still wasn't clear to me. Thank you for your help!
