The stock rom always showed my city. Like I said it's not a big deal so if it can't be fixed it's no biggie.
I am not sure if you are in the same boat as me but I have the Sprint Airave and when I updated to Froyo, my location was way off. It was showing me 50 miles South of my actual location when within the Airave coverage. I got the new Airvana Airave (Airave 2) and this seems to have fixed the issue. I called Sprint about this previously and they said they know all about the issue and that there is nothing that they can do to fix it right now. I spoke to an Airave tech who said it has to do with the way that the Airave gathers it's location data and that it is using the router's main access server which is usually not where you home is.

If you don't have the Airave, try going to applications and then running apps and clear the data under the weather provider app and then redownload weather location and see if this helps.

I can say that my location seems to be working fine now though.
