Also, in Windows Messaging the deleted messages are not really deleted until you select "Empty Deleted Items" from the menu. Until you do that they will be hanging out in the device's trash bin.

To get rid of all messages you have to delete them from the inbox, then delete them from the Sent folder, then Empty Deleted Items. Then HTC messaging will be clear.
