Load into boot loader (power off and then power on while holding Volume Down) and look at the top of your screen. Does it say S-Off?
If it does then you have "full root" and just lost the recovery image.

Ah, yes, this was the issue. Thanks so much, I've got everything flashed and working now. I was going crazy trying to figure out what I had done wrong...
